John Moore

...Through his innate ability to “connect-the-dots...outside of the box”, John Moore helps start-ups and established companies and organizations to achieve their goals.  Using market development, research, organization and synthesis, John brings to bear his understanding of diversified markets and industries throughout the United States , the Pacific Rim , and a global perspective of business development, especially related to sustainability, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and alternative materials.

   John subscribes to the "Triple Net" theory about the interrelationship between ethical, social, and economical aspects of any private, public, and/or non-profit endeavor.  He further believes in the connectedness of ethical and sustainable beliefs and behaviors for education, economy, environment, and energy, locally to globally.  John advocates and uses a "Systems" approach to thinking and planning, strategically and tactically.

He has worked with a variety of patent-holders to develop the fiber-reinforced plastic composites business.  John's specialty in these projects has been creating strategic market segments in the transportation and construction industries.

   John has worked with a broad range of industries including wood products, pulp and paper, agriculture, seafood, transportation, and industrialized housing.  Large and smaller employers/contracts have included Crown Zellerbach Paper Company, Weyerhaeuser, Marine Resources, McCormick & Schmick’s, Pacific Northwest Regional Commission, Burlington Northern, and the Greenbrier/ Gunderson Companies.  John has lived in Japan and South Korea working with a US-USSR pioneering joint venture involving international trade.  He has also worked with several municipalities doing research and recommendations for economic development.

...His educational background includes coursework at Hokkaido University in Sapporo , Japan ; Portland State University , Oregon ; Golden Gate University , San Francisco ; a one-year intensive Formative Leadership Development program, an external-invitee to Portland General Electric’s Leadership Dynamics program, and other continuing learning experiences.

...John’s community participation includes Salmon Watch at Oregon Trout, the Oregon Business Plan, Self-Enhancement, Inc., and the Gardner School of Arts and Sciences.  He is a member of the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network (OEN).
